A Bug’s Life for Nintendo 64 turns the Pixar film into a 3D platform game. You play as Flik, exploring levels themed around the anthill, the surrounding grass and dirt, and the insect city, all rendered at a bug’s-eye scale where blades of grass and puddles become terrain. Movement covers running, jumping and climbing, and Flik can pick up and throw berries as projectiles against enemy insects. Levels task you with collecting grain and completing objectives for other characters from the movie, with boss encounters drawn from the story’s cast. Cutscenes and voice work tie the stages together. The layout of each area encourages some exploration for hidden items rather than a straight run to the exit.
