After Burner – Sega Master System Game

After Burner on the Sega Master System is an 8-bit conversion of Sega’s arcade jet combat game. You fly a fighter aircraft viewed from behind, moving around the screen and rolling to evade oncoming enemy planes and streams of missiles. A rapid-fire cannon handles close targets while a limited supply of homing missiles locks onto enemies at range, so managing your ammunition matters as the waves increase. Stages follow one after another in a continuous run across skies, sea and desert backdrops, with the game leaning on fast reactions rather than any mission planning. The Master System version scales down the arcade original’s visuals and hardware effects, but keeps the same score-chasing arcade structure and steadily rising pressure as you push deeper into the sequence.
