Amok – Sega Saturn Game

Amok is a mech action shooter for the Sega Saturn. You pilot an armed walking machine through a series of missions, moving through industrial and outdoor environments while destroying enemy units and installations and working toward stage objectives. The mech handles deliberately, with separate control over movement and aiming, so positioning and use of cover matter as much as raw firepower. Weapons and equipment vary between missions, and levels are laid out with routes, structures and hazards to navigate rather than being open arenas. The visual style uses polygonal machines and terrain typical of mid-1990s 3D action games, with a heavy, mechanical feel to combat. It is a slower, more weighty take on shooting than the arcade titles common on the platform.
