Art Alive – Sega Genesis Game

Art Alive is a drawing and painting program for the Sega Genesis rather than a conventional game. Using the standard controller, you move a cursor around the screen to sketch freehand, fill areas with color, and place pre-drawn stamps of characters, objects and scenery onto backgrounds. Tools include a selection of brushes, patterns and colors, and there are ready-made scenes you can decorate and build on. The emphasis is on open-ended creation and experimentation, with simple menus designed so younger users can pick it up quickly. Because the Genesis has no printer or save-to-disk capability in the usual sense, work is created and displayed on screen. It is one of the console’s few creativity titles, and it is best approached as a digital coloring and stamp set for the television.
