Baten Kaitos – Gamecube Game

Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean is a turn-based role-playing game for the GameCube set in a world of islands floating in the sky, where people are born with wings on their backs. You follow Kalas and a party of companions across those islands, and you are addressed directly as a spirit bound to Kalas, occasionally asked questions by the characters themselves. Combat uses a deck of cards called Magnus, which represent weapons, armour, healing items and elemental attacks; you draw and play them within time limits to build attack and defence combos. Magnus can also store real-world objects found in the environment, and some change over time, which feeds into puzzles and item crafting. Presentation combines pre-rendered backgrounds with an orchestral and vocal soundtrack.
