Battle Monsters – Sega Saturn Game

Battle Monsters is a one-on-one fighting game for the Sega Saturn built around digitized sprite characters, with a roster of monstrous and horror-themed combatants. Matches use the familiar structure of the genre: punches, kicks, throws and special moves executed with directional inputs, fought over rounds until one fighter’s health is depleted. Its stages are split across multiple tiers, so a strong enough hit can knock an opponent through the floor or up to another level of the arena, shifting the fight to new ground mid-round. You can play through single-player matches against the computer or face a second player head-to-head. The presentation leans on dark, grotesque character designs and gore-tinged effects rather than the cleaner look of most Saturn fighters.
