Chrono Cross – PS1 Game

Chrono Cross is a role-playing game for the PlayStation set in the tropical islands of El Nido. You play as Serge, a young man who finds himself crossing between two parallel versions of his world, one in which he drowned as a child and one in which he lived. Unraveling why leads him into a much larger conflict involving time itself. The cast is unusually large, with many recruitable party members, each with their own abilities. Combat is turn-based but built around a stamina meter and the Element system, where attacks, spells and healing are slotted into a grid and consumed as you use them. Field colors shift with the Elements played, affecting spell strength. The presentation combines pre-rendered backgrounds with an orchestral and world-music influenced score.
