Crystalis – NES Game

Crystalis is an overhead action RPG for the NES set on an Earth rebuilding after a global catastrophe, where science has been outlawed and magic has taken its place. You wake from cryogenic sleep with no memory and set out across a world of towns, caves and towers, fighting enemies in real time with swords rather than through turn-based menus. Four elemental swords form the core of the combat: each can be charged for stronger attacks and each is suited to particular enemies and obstacles, so switching weapons is part of solving both fights and environmental puzzles. Along the way you gain magic spells, level up through combat, and talk to villagers and sages who point you toward the next region. The game uses a password-free battery save.
