Darkstone – PS1 Game

Darkstone is an action role-playing game brought from the PC to the PlayStation. You explore dungeons and outdoor regions from an overhead perspective, clicking and hacking through monsters, gathering loot and levelling up a character built around melee combat or spellcasting. Character progression uses attributes and skills you assign as you gain levels, and equipment found in dungeons changes your damage, defence and available magic. Environments are generated so that dungeon layouts and enemy placement vary between playthroughs, encouraging repeat runs with different builds. The structure sends you between a hub settlement, where you can trade and repair gear, and increasingly dangerous areas where quest objectives and boss creatures wait. You control a pair of heroes and can switch between them, letting one fight up close while the other supports from range.
