Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 3 brings the BMX trick series to Game Boy Advance. You ride licensed BMX pros through park and street-style environments made up of ramps, rails, ledges and gaps, performing spins, flips, grinds and manuals to build scores. Progress comes from completing objectives and reaching point targets within a run, which opens up further areas. Trick inputs combine directional presses with the handheld’s buttons, so extending a combo means judging how much air a ramp gives you and how long a rotation takes to complete. The presentation is scaled to the hardware, with compact courses suited to short sessions and repeated attempts. As in the console entries, learning a level’s layout and the links between its obstacles is central to scoring well.
