Shin Budokai is a Dragon Ball Z fighting game for PlayStation Portable. Battles are one-on-one and viewed from the side, with fighters able to move freely in a 3D arena, fly, and chase opponents while trading melee combos and ki blasts. You build and spend energy on special attacks and ultimate techniques, and many characters transform into stronger forms during a fight. The game includes a story mode with branching paths and dialogue between characters, single battles, and multiplayer matches over the handheld’s wireless connection. A customisation system lets you attach cards or items to adjust a fighter’s stats and abilities before a match. The roster is made up of characters from the Dragon Ball Z series, including fusions.
