Dune The Battle for Arrakis – Sega Genesis Game

Dune: The Battle for Arrakis is the Sega Genesis version of the real-time strategy game set in Frank Herbert’s Dune universe. You choose one of three houses competing for control of Arrakis, then work through a campaign of missions on the desert planet. Play centres on harvesting spice with harvesters, spending the proceeds on structures such as refineries, factories and defences, and building armies of infantry and vehicles to destroy the enemy base. Each house has its own units and technology, and sandworms threaten anything that stays too long in open desert. The Genesis release adapts the mouse-driven controls to a gamepad interface for selecting and ordering units. It is a foundational example of base-building real-time strategy on a console.
