Excitebike 64 brings Nintendo’s motocross series into 3D on the Nintendo 64. You race dirt tracks with jumps, banked turns and rough terrain, controlling your rider’s lean in the air to set up clean landings and keep momentum. Throttle control matters, as does picking lines through whoops and around rival riders. Alongside standard racing you get a stunt mode for performing tricks, time trials, and a track editor for building your own courses. Several riders are available, and the game includes practice areas to learn the physics before committing to races. Split-screen multiplayer supports racing against other players. Difficulty settings and a season-style progression open up harder tracks as you place well in earlier events.
