Felix the Cat – NES Game

Felix the Cat for the NES is a side-scrolling platformer built around the character’s Magic Bag of Tricks. Collecting hearts upgrades Felix step by step, and the bag becomes a series of different forms: punching gloves on land, a car, boats and submarines in water levels, and aircraft in flying stages. Getting hit reduces your power level rather than ending the game outright, so the bag downgrades as you take damage. Levels are grouped into themed worlds with varied terrain, and each set closes with a boss fight. Water and air sections play more like shooting stages, changing the pace between the on-foot platforming segments. The story has Felix pursuing the villain who has taken his girlfriend Kitty, and the cartoon-styled sprite art and bright backgrounds carry the licence throughout.
