A PlayStation 2 release in EA’s long-running football (soccer) series, built on the older engine the PS2 versions continued to use in the series’ later years. You play matches with licensed clubs and national teams, taking part in exhibition games, cup competitions and league seasons. Play covers passing, crossing, shooting, tackling and set pieces, with formation and tactical adjustments plus substitutions handled between and during matches. A career-style mode lets you take a club through fixtures over time, managing your squad and transfers. Match options include difficulty, half length and camera choices, and two players can compete on the same console. Presentation includes commentary, licensed kits and stadium crowds rendered in the PS2’s style rather than the visuals of contemporary consoles.
