Fighting Vipers – Sega Saturn Game

Fighting Vipers is a 3D fighting game brought to the Sega Saturn from the arcade. Matches take place in arenas enclosed by walls, so opponents can be cornered and slammed against the barriers rather than simply knocked out of bounds. Each fighter wears protective armour that chips away as they take punishment; once a piece breaks off, that character becomes more vulnerable for the rest of the round. The roster is a mix of street-level brawlers and martial artists with distinct move sets, from grapplers to faster striking styles. Play consists of one-on-one bouts against the CPU or a second player, with standard best-of-rounds rules and a range of throws, combos and counters built on the series’ three-button layout. Presentation uses texture-mapped polygon characters and a rock-driven soundtrack.
