Gauntlet Legends – PS1 Game

Gauntlet Legends is a 3D take on the series’ overhead dungeon crawling. You select a fantasy hero class with its own melee, ranged and magic attributes, then fight through themed realms where monsters stream out of generators until the spawn points are destroyed. Your health drains continuously, keeping food pickups as important as keys, potions and gold. Between stages you spend gold to raise stats such as armour, strength and speed, and heroes gain experience levels as you progress, with saving so a character carries forward. Elemental weapons and special items temporarily change how your character fights, while traps, locked doors and boss encounters break up the levels. Multiplayer co-operative play lets more than one hero share the screen and the item drops. The core loop is crowd control, route planning through mazes and gradual character growth.
