Goal Storm – PS1 Game

Goal Storm is a football game for the original PlayStation, offering full eleven-a-side matches with 3D polygonal players on a textured pitch. You choose from a roster of international sides and play exhibition matches or tournament competitions, controlling one player at a time while the computer handles your teammates’ positioning. The control scheme covers short and long passes, through balls, lofted crosses, shooting with variable power, sliding tackles and set pieces. Camera angles follow the action from behind or above, and replays can be viewed after goals. Matches include commentary and crowd noise, and difficulty settings and match length can be adjusted before kick-off. Two players can compete on the same console. The emphasis is on positional passing and timing rather than pure arcade speed, with early-generation 3D visuals.
