Gradius 3 and 4 – PS2 Game

This PlayStation 2 release collects the arcade versions of Gradius III and Gradius IV, two entries in Konami’s horizontal-scrolling shooter series. In both, you fly the Vic Viper through side-scrolling stages, collecting power-up capsules that advance a selection bar so you can choose speed-ups, missiles, shot types, Options and shields as you go. Gradius III adds a weapon-edit option letting you configure which upgrades occupy each slot before starting. Gradius IV continues the format with its own set of stages, enemy formations and boss designs. Both games feature the series staples of terrain-heavy levels, cell-like organic areas and large end-of-stage bosses, and both punish death by stripping your accumulated upgrades. Suitable for players who want the arcade versions on a home console.
