Gradius III – SNES Game

Gradius III on the Super Nintendo is a horizontal-scrolling shooter in which you fly the Vic Viper through side-scrolling stages against an alien empire. Power-up capsules dropped by enemies advance a selection bar, letting you choose speed-ups, missiles, shot types, Options that trail your ship and mirror your fire, and shields, so you decide when to cash in and what to build toward. A weapon-edit mode lets you assign which upgrades appear in the bar before you start, changing how a run plays out. Stages move through volcanic areas, organic cell-like passages, the series’ Moai heads and mechanical fortresses, each ending in a boss with its own attack pattern. Dying strips your upgrades, making recovery a central part of the challenge.
