Gran Turismo – PS1 Game

Gran Turismo is a racing simulator for the original PlayStation, developed by Polyphony Digital. It splits play between an Arcade mode, where a set of cars and courses is available immediately, and a Simulation mode built around earning licenses, buying used and new road cars from real manufacturers, and entering championship events for prize money and vehicles. Winnings fund upgrades to engines, drivetrains, suspension, tyres and weight, with tuning affecting handling in measurable ways. Cars must be matched to entry requirements for each series, so building a garage of different machines is part of progression. Tracks include road circuits and city-style courses, driven with a replay mode and split-screen two-player racing. Handling emphasises grip, braking distance and tyre wear over arcade-style drifting.
