Grandia Xtreme – PS2 Game

Grandia Xtreme is a role-playing game for the PlayStation 2 that puts most of its emphasis on dungeon exploration and combat rather than a sprawling overworld. You lead a team investigating elemental disturbances threatening the world, working out of a base and heading into dungeon areas whose layouts change between visits. Battles use the series’ hybrid system, mixing turn order with free movement so that timing and positioning let you cancel enemy attacks, strike groups of foes or retreat out of range. Special moves and magic grow stronger with use, and equipment and elemental items can be combined to alter your party’s abilities. Progress involves repeated expeditions, resource management between runs, and gradually pushing deeper as your characters gain skills and gear.
