Gunstar Heroes – Sega Genesis Game

Gunstar Heroes is a run-and-gun action game developed by Treasure for the Sega Genesis. You control a commando who can shoot in eight directions, slide, jump and grapple enemies with throws and body slams, mixing melee with gunfire. The weapon system lets you carry two of the game’s basic shot types and combine them into hybrid weapons, changing fire rate, spread and behaviour depending on the pair. You choose a fixed or free-aim shooting style at the start, which affects how movement and firing work together. Stages vary in structure, with one built around a board-game style path, and bosses range from mechanical constructs to large multi-part machines. Two players can play together on the same screen, including cooperative throws.
