Hook – SNES Game

Hook on the Super Nintendo is a side-scrolling action platformer adapting the film. You control Peter as he travels through Neverland, fighting pirates and other enemies with a sword while jumping between platforms and searching stages for items. Levels take in locations such as forests, caves, the pirate town and ships, and each section builds toward a boss. Alongside standard running and jumping, the game gives Peter additional movement abilities as the story progresses, opening up parts of the stages that were previously out of reach. Presentation uses detailed sprite art, parallax backgrounds and a melodic soundtrack typical of SNES platformers of the era. Play is centred on learning enemy patterns, timing attacks and navigating hazards, with health pickups scattered through the levels to keep you going.
