Hunt for Red October – Gameboy Game

Based on the Tom Clancy submarine story, this Game Boy release puts you at the controls of a nuclear submarine viewed from the side as it moves through underwater environments. You steer up and down to thread through narrow rock passages, avoid mines and other hazards, and fire torpedoes at enemy vessels that appear ahead of you. Depth management matters as much as shooting, since much of the challenge comes from reading the terrain scrolling toward you and finding a safe line through it. The monochrome presentation keeps things simple, with your sub, the seabed, and enemy craft picked out against dark water. Progress is a matter of learning each stretch of the route and surviving long enough to reach the next stage.
