Kao the Kangaroo – Sega Dreamcast Game

Kao the Kangaroo is a 3D platformer for the Dreamcast starring a kangaroo who wears boxing gloves. You move Kao through a series of themed levels, jumping across platforms, punching enemies and gathering the items spread through each stage, including ones tucked away from the obvious route. Levels are entered one at a time rather than forming a single connected world, and they mix straightforward traversal with occasional puzzle-flavoured obstacles and boss encounters. Kao’s abilities centre on jumping and close-range attacks, with some sections switching to vehicles or chase-style sequences for variety. The visual style is bright and cartoonish, with rounded character designs and colourful environments. Controls use the Dreamcast pad’s analog stick for movement and the face buttons for jumping and attacking, keeping the layout simple for younger players.
