Kinetica – PS2 Game

Kinetica is a futuristic racing game for the PlayStation 2 in which riders wearing powered suits sprint along enclosed tracks at very high speed. Because the courses are tubular, you can run along walls and ceilings, and much of the skill lies in choosing a line around the inside of a loop or across a surface to keep momentum. Boosts, jumps and mid-air tricks feed into your speed, and racers can knock into one another while jostling for position. Characters and suits differ in their handling and top speed, and additional ones open up as you win events. Modes include single races, championship-style progression and time-based challenges, along with split-screen play for two. The presentation pairs a stylised sci-fi art design with an electronic soundtrack and a strong sense of blur at speed.
