King of Fighters Maximum Impact – PS2 Game

King of Fighters Maximum Impact moves SNK’s fighting series into fully 3D character models and arenas while keeping much of the series’ feel. Matches play out on a plane you can sidestep along, with the familiar mix of light and heavy attacks, special moves and super moves driven by a meter that fills as you fight. Alongside returning KOF fighters, the roster introduces new characters tied to the game’s own story. Modes include a story path with cutscenes, single matches, team battles, survival, training and versus play for two players. Costume and colour options let you alter fighters’ appearances, and the presentation leans on a stylised city setting with an original soundtrack. Combos rely on chained normals into specials rather than long juggle strings.
