Madagascar Escape 2 Africa – PS2 Game

Based on the animated film, this action game follows Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo as they leave Madagascar and end up on the African mainland. Levels are built around third-person platforming and light combat, and you switch between the four main characters depending on the stage, with each using their own moves to run, jump, climb and knock aside obstacles and animals in their path. Objectives are broken up by chases, collection tasks and mini-game style challenges, and the penguins turn up as part of the story. Environments follow the film’s settings, from jungle and grassland areas to the watering hole. Cutscenes and dialogue retell the plot between stages, and the difficulty is aimed at younger players.
