A handheld take on EA Sports’ NFL football series, built for the Game Boy Color’s small screen and two-button controls. You pick from NFL teams and play exhibition games or work through a season, calling plays from a playbook before each snap and then controlling passing, running and defensive assignments directly. The presentation is scaled down compared to the console versions, with a compact scrolling field view, simplified player sprites and abbreviated stat tracking, but the basic flow of downs, field position, kicking and clock management is intact. Menus cover team selection, difficulty and game length settings. It is designed for short sessions on the go rather than the deeper franchise management found in the home console entries.
