Madden 64 – Nintendo 64 Game

Madden Football 64 brings EA Sports’ American football series to the Nintendo 64. You choose a team, call plays from offensive and defensive playbooks, and then take direct control on the field for passing, rushing, tackling and kicking. Alongside single exhibition games there is season play with statistics tracking and playoff progression. The Nintendo 64’s four controller ports allow multiple players to compete together or against each other on one console, which is a natural fit for team sports. Presentation uses 3D polygonal players and stadiums with a camera positioned behind the play, plus commentary and on-screen information between snaps. Difficulty and game settings let you adjust quarter length and how demanding the opposition is. It is a straightforward football simulation built for the console’s early 3D hardware.
