Mario Party is a board game and minigame collection for the Nintendo 64. Up to four players, human or computer-controlled, take turns rolling a dice block and moving around themed boards, buying stars, collecting coins and triggering space events that can help or hinder them. At the end of each turn all four players compete in a minigame, with formats including free-for-alls, two-versus-two matches and one-versus-three battles. Coins won in minigames fund star purchases, and bonus awards handed out at the end can shift the final standings. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Wario and Donkey Kong are among the playable characters. Some minigames ask you to spin the control stick rapidly. A shop area lets you spend accumulated coins on extras outside the main board play.
