Mass Effect 3 on Wii U is a third-person action role-playing game in which you play as Commander Shepard, leading a squad across the galaxy as an ancient machine race wages war on organic life. Combat mixes cover-based shooting with biotic and tech powers that you can pause to select and combine with your two squadmates. Conversations use a dialogue wheel, and your choices affect how allies, factions and story threads resolve. The Wii U version puts the map, mission log, weapon loadouts and power selection on the GamePad touchscreen, and supports off-TV play. An interactive comic lets you set key decisions from the earlier games in the trilogy before starting, shaping the state of the galaxy you inherit.
