MLB 09

MLB 09: The Show on PlayStation 2 is a licensed Major League Baseball simulation with real teams, players and stadiums. You handle each phase of the game directly: timing swings at the plate, selecting pitch type and location on the mound, and controlling fielders for throws and tags. Play a single exhibition game or take a club through an extended schedule, setting lineups, managing your pitching staff and watching player performance accumulate. Broadcast-style presentation frames the action with commentary, replays and crowd noise. Difficulty options and gameplay sliders let you decide how much the game helps you at bat and on the mound. As a PlayStation 2 release, it keeps the simulation-focused gameplay of the series within the limits of that console’s presentation rather than the higher-end version released the same year.
