Each room is a small arrangement of ladders, ropes, conveyor floors, disappearing platforms and locked doors, and you work your way downward through the levels of the temple looking for keys, treasure and the exits that link one chamber to the next. Hazards include snakes, spiders, skulls and fire pits, and a single touch costs you a life, so movement has to be planned rather than rushed. Items such as swords, torches and amulets can be picked up and used to deal with specific obstacles. The layout grows more intricate as you descend, and the appeal comes from learning each room’s exact timing and route by repetition.
