Mortal Kombat – Sega Genesis Game

Mortal Kombat for the Sega Genesis is a home conversion of the arcade fighting game built around digitized sprites of live actors. Matches are one-on-one, fought over best-of-three rounds, and the control scheme uses high and low punches and kicks along with a dedicated block button. Special moves are entered with directional motions and a button press, and a stunned opponent can be finished with a fatality. Single-player play sends you up a ladder of opponents toward the game’s final fights, and two players can face each other directly. Stages from the arcade are included, along with their hazards and hidden fights. The Genesis release is known for allowing the arcade’s blood effects and uncensored finishing moves to be enabled with a code entered at the title screen.
