MTV Remote Control – NES Game

MTV Remote Control turns the MTV game show into an NES trivia contest. You take the contestant’s chair and answer multiple-choice questions drawn from categories presented as television channels, covering music, movies, TV shows and pop culture. Two computer contestants answer alongside you, and you buzz in to score points while wrong answers cost you. Rounds move through several stages, with category selection between them and the field narrowing as play continues, following the structure of the broadcast version. Presentation uses the show’s living-room set and channel-surfing conceit, with static screens and short text prompts rather than action sequences. Play is entirely question-and-answer, so the appeal rests on your knowledge of late-1980s music and television, and questions repeat over multiple sessions.
