A five-on-five simulation basketball game in EA’s NBA Live series, released for the original PlayStation. Play uses licensed NBA teams and players, with a full-court camera and a control scheme built around passing, shooting, dunking and defensive pressure. Alongside single exhibition games you can play through a season, take teams into the playoffs, and manage rosters through trades and substitutions. Player and team statistics are tracked as you play. Commentary and crowd audio run over the action, and the presentation includes on-screen scoreboards and replays. The game supports head-to-head play with a second controller, and the PlayStation’s multitap allows more players in a single game. Difficulty settings and adjustable game rules let you tune how close the simulation stays to real basketball.
