NBA Live 95 is EA Sports’ basketball game for the Sega Genesis, played from a scrolling side-on view of the court. You run five-on-five games with licensed NBA teams, passing, shooting, driving to the basket, and switching between defenders. Play calling and substitutions are handled from in-game menus, and you can adjust quarter length, fouls, and other rules before tipoff. Beyond single games, the game supports playing through a season with statistics tracking and continuing into the playoffs. Two players can compete or team up using a second controller, and multitap support allows more players on some setups. Presentation includes a scoreboard, arena crowd noise, and sampled sound effects, with digitised-looking sprite players. It is a straightforward 16-bit take on the series’ simulation-leaning basketball.
