The Game Boy Advance version of Underground adapts the series’ night-time street racing to handheld hardware. You race tuned import cars through city courses, taking on events to earn money and unlock upgrades for your car. The presentation uses a behind-the-car perspective with scaled road and scenery, and a nitrous boost is available during races. Progression follows a career structure of successive events, with performance parts improving speed and handling and visual options changing your car’s appearance. Race formats keep the street-racing framing of the console game in a simplified form suited to short handheld sessions.
