NFL Blitz brings the arcade-style football series to the Game Boy Color, trading simulation depth for fast, exaggerated action on a handheld screen. Teams play with reduced squads, playbooks are short, and drives move quickly, so a possession can swing on one long pass or one big hit. You pick a play from a compact menu, snap the ball, and use a turbo boost to break away from defenders or close on the quarterback. Tackling is heavy and the rulebook is loose compared with standard football games, which keeps the pace high. Modes cover single games and season-style play against the computer or a second player by link cable, and the presentation is scaled down to suit the Game Boy Color’s small display and limited controls.
