NHL 95 is a licensed hockey game for the Sega Genesis featuring NHL teams and players. Play is five-on-five from an angled overhead view, with passing, shooting, dekes and body checks handled through simple controls, plus faceoffs, penalties, power plays and goaltender control. Beyond exhibition games and playoff play, the game includes a full season mode with standings, statistics and roster moves such as trades, letting you follow a club across a schedule. Rule and difficulty settings cover period length, penalties and offside enforcement so you can lean toward arcade or simulation play. Two players can face off head-to-head with a second controller. Presentation includes crowd audio, goal celebrations and between-period statistics screens tracking players and teams.
