NHL Hitz 2002 – Gamecube Game

NHL Hitz 2002 is Midway’s arcade-style hockey game for the Nintendo GameCube. Games are played three-on-three plus goalies on a short shift with no offsides or icing, so play is fast and constant. Big checks, boarding, and fights are encouraged rather than penalized, and stringing together clean play builds your team toward an on-fire state that boosts shot power and speed. Along with quick exhibition games there is a franchise-style mode where you earn points to unlock extra content and improve your squad. NHL teams and players are licensed, though the models and animations are exaggerated to match the tone. Skill shots and one-timers are performed with simple button combinations. Multiple players can compete locally on one GameCube using the console’s four controller ports.
