Nightmare Creatures – PS1 Game

Nightmare Creatures is a third-person action game set in a gothic Victorian London where a secret society has unleashed monsters on the city. You pick one of two playable characters and fight through streets, cemeteries, sewers and interiors, relying on melee weapons plus a small stock of thrown items and consumables. Combat is built on timing attacks, blocking and sidestepping, with dismemberment and beheading as part of the move set. An adrenaline meter steadily falls and is topped up by killing creatures or using medicine, which pushes you to keep engaging rather than avoiding fights. Stages are linear routes broken up by locked gates, keys to find and boss monsters. The PlayStation version uses fog-heavy 3D environments and features cutscenes that advance the story between levels.
