Odin Sphere – PS2 Game

Odin Sphere is a 2D action role-playing game set in a fantasy world of warring kingdoms. The story is told through a set of interlinked books, each following a different protagonist, and events overlap so that the same battles are seen from more than one perspective. Combat takes place on side-scrolling stages where you move between rings of locations on a map, fighting enemies in real time with a Psypher weapon that absorbs energy from defeated foes. That energy is used to grow seeds into fruit, and eating food or cooked dishes raises your maximum health permanently, which makes item management a core part of progression. Potions, spells and equipment are crafted from materials gathered during stages. The presentation uses hand-drawn characters and backgrounds with fully voiced story scenes.
