OutRunners – Sega Genesis Game

OutRunners is a Genesis conversion of Sega’s arcade driving game, continuing the series’ formula of fast, sunny cross-country racing. You pick a car and driver, then blast along branching routes: at the end of each stage the road splits, letting you choose your path and ending up at one of several different finish points. Checkpoints top up a countdown timer, and traffic and roadside scenery are the main obstacles rather than rival racers’ aggression. Handling is arcade-style, with long drifts through curves. A split-screen two-player mode lets you race head-to-head on the same course, and each car comes with its own selectable soundtrack in keeping with the series’ radio-station tradition.
