Paperboy – Nintendo 64 Game

Paperboy for Nintendo 64 brings the newspaper delivery concept into 3D. You ride a bicycle through neighborhood streets rendered with polygons, throwing papers at the homes of subscribers while avoiding cars, pedestrians, animals and obstacles in your path. Landing papers accurately earns points, while damaging the property of non-subscribers is also rewarded. Collisions and missed deliveries work against you, and completing a day’s route moves you on to the next. The 3D camera allows the routes to wind and branch rather than following a single straight street, and stunts and shortcuts are part of navigating the environments. The game keeps the score-chasing structure of the original arcade design while adding fuller 3D environments and a cartoon presentation.
