The Sega Saturn version of EA Sports’ PGA Tour 97 offers licensed PGA Tour golf with real courses and real tour professionals. Play centres on stroke play: you pick a club, set your aim and shot shape, then use a swing meter to control backswing length and contact, with wind, terrain and lie all influencing the result. Greens must be read before putting, and the camera shifts to television-style angles between shots, backed by commentary and course flyover views in the EA Sports style of the period. You can play single rounds or take on tournaments against a field of computer-controlled golfers, and friends can compete by alternating turns on one Saturn. Progress and tournament results are saved to system memory.
