PGA Tour 98 – PS1 Game

PGA Tour 98 continues EA Sports’ licensed golf series on PlayStation. Rounds are played as stroke play on real-world courses, with a swing meter controlling backswing and contact while club choice, aim, shot shape and stance are set beforehand. Wind, elevation and the lie of the ball all affect flight and roll, and putting asks you to read the slope of the green before committing. Real tour professionals are available to play as and to compete against, and the game offers single rounds alongside tournament play against a computer-controlled field. The presentation uses television-style camerawork, course overviews and commentary between shots, in keeping with EA Sports releases of the era. Several players can take part by passing the controller between holes, with saves written to a memory card.
