Phalanx – GBA Game

Phalanx on Game Boy Advance is a horizontally scrolling shooter and a version of the earlier Super Nintendo game. You pilot a fighter craft through side-scrolling stages, dodging enemy formations and terrain while returning fire. Weapon pickups dropped by enemies change your main shot and add support options, and holding fire charges a stronger attack. Stages end in larger boss encounters that require you to learn attack patterns and find safe positions. The design follows genre conventions of the era: limited lives, power-ups that are lost when you take a hit, and steadily denser enemy fire as you progress. Controls are simple, using one button to shoot and another for your secondary option, with the handheld’s smaller screen framing the action.
